Disabled Facilities at Edinburgh Airport
Edinburgh Airport does all it can to assist disabled passengers, and those with special needs.
The help points locate your position within the airport so you can find the facility or amenity you are trying to locate. You can also use the points to request help getting around the airport in a wheelchair or help carrying bags to check-in.
The disabled facilities at the Airport include wheelchair access telephones and toilet facilities, ramps for easy access and also wider pathways.
Disabled help points are available for special needs passengers or disabled travellers at Edinburgh Airport. These can be found around the airport building including the terminal forecourts, the car parks and rail station and baggage reclaim halls.
Induction loops are available for the use of partially sighted or hard of hearing passengers throughout the airport. These can be easily identified by the clear 'sympathetic ear' symbol. All the airports credit card and pay phones have been adapted with hearing aids. Also, there's a text pay phone in International arrivals after exiting customs.
For ease of use all the airport's signage use black text on a yellow background. Do note that guide dogs and hearing dogs are allowed in Edinburgh Airport.
There are unisex wheelchair toilets in both the landside and airside passenger waiting areas.
Most Car Parks are suitable for use by disabled passengers, but those who prefer not to use transfer buses may wish to consider the Edinburgh Meet and Greet Service, where passengers drive right up to the Terminal and the car is parked for you. You will then be met at the terminal on your return.
