New Jet2 Service from Edinburgh Airport to Majorca

Jet2  will add new flights to Majorca from Edinburgh Airport from June 26th. The service will run twice a week.



New Service to Edinburgh Airport from Oxford                           January 21 2010

An unusual new service is to start shortly by a new airline called Varsity Express. The airline will initially operate between Oxford and Edinburgh Airport, with other services planned in the future.

Bmibaby summer 2010 programme from Edinburgh Airport   August 22 2009

Bmibaby has announced the launch of its summer 2010 flying programme from Edinburgh Airport.The airline will now offer flights to Birmingham, East Midlands and Cardiff airports until 30 October next year.Managing director Crawford Rix said: "We are delighted to go on sale with our summer 2010 flying programme from Edinburgh Airport.

"We will continue to offer consistently low fares and by going on sale with our summer 2010 flight programme now, we are allowing customers to plan ahead and secure the best deals for next year."

Next summer bmibaby will offer up to 38 flights a week.Current prices are from £20.99 one-way.

Ryanair launches new winter routes from Edinburgh Airport                      August 20 2009

 

Ryanair has announced several  new services from Edinburgh Airport

The company said it was concentrating its efforts on winter sun destinations like Girona (Barcelona), Gran Canaria, Lanzarote and Tenerife.The airline is also adding city break locations like Brussels, Memmingen (Munich West), Gdansk and Oslo (Torp).Ryanair claimed the changes would increase annual passenger numbers at Edinburgh Airport to almost two million and sustain 2,000 local jobs.The services will operate from 30 October until March 2010.

The move came just days after the airline decided to close down or switch nine of its 10 Manchester Airport routes in a row over airport charges.The airline is also extending its summer routes to and from Malta and Rome (Ciampino).

Gordon Dewar, managing director of Edinburgh Airport, said: "We are delighted that Ryanair have once again committed to expanding their operation out of Edinburgh Airport, now the fastest growing airport anywhere in the UK.

"These are exciting new destinations, which will give our increasing numbers of passengers an even greater choice of places to jet off to this winter.

"We are particularly pleased to see new routes to Germany, Spain and Norway, key tourism markets for Scotland, particularly over the Christmas and New Year period."
