Edinburgh Airport Re-opens
2010-05-17 13:57:19Edinburgh Airport re-opened for business at 13.00 hours today, Monday May 17, after a temoerary closure earlier in the day.
As well as Edinburgh other Scottish Airport at Aberdeen, Prestwick and Inverness were closed on Monday morning.
A number of airports in Scotland stopped receiving flights on Sunday, but the airspace closures spread further during the night.
All passengers have been advised to check with their airlines before travelling to airports.
The forecast is that the ash cloud situation over United Kingdom airspace will ease from tomorrow.
Willie Walsh, the head of BA, has been fiercely critical of the CAA, saying closures of UK airpace were made too hastily.
