2010-05-01 16:56:23FlyBe have taken the decision to open the first scheduled flight from Edinburgh Airport to Kent Airport. The decision has proved to be right, with passenger levels extremely good, on average more than 50% of capacity.
Kent International Airport is well located, just two miles from Ramsgate, and one mile from the village of Manston. Travelling from London to Kent International Airport is easy. Drivers will use the A2, and then the A299. Driving time is around one and a half hours.
Mike Rutter, FlyBe chief commercial officer, said: "We're really pleased with the level of online bookings and strong passenger interest shown in the route in such a short time."
Matt Clarke, Kent International Airport chief executive, added that the route could increase visitors' spending in both destinations, labelling it "a welcome boost".
Flights from Edinburgh Airport to Kent International will run until October 30. Flights are only £24.99 one way, and are provided by comfortable Bombardier Q-400 Aircraft, which have a passenger capacity of 78. The route is designed for business and leisure passengers.
