Traffic Restrictions outside Edinburgh Airport Terminal Building to remain

2010-05-16 01:10:58

The  investment programme in  upgrading and improving the forecourt of the Edinburgh Airport Terminal building is not scheduled to finish until June, meaning that whilst a through lane will remain open, no traffic will able to stop in front of the terminal.

All public bus services will be temporarily located to the coach park adjacent to the main terminal with passengers directed to them with a range of signs and information leaflets. The coach park will also be moved for the duration of the work.

Taxi drop-off has already been relocated to a new permanent position which has eliminated the need for passengers to cross the road to get from their taxi to the terminal.

Gordon Dewar, Managing Director, Edinburgh Airport, said: "I'd like to thank passengers in advance for their patience whilst we upgrade this important part of Edinburgh Airport.

"We're constantly striving to improve our service to airlines and passengers and our ongoing investment programme is at the foundation of this.

"We're working hard with our bus company partners to ensure that there is no confusion for passengers and that they are able to continue to give the fantastic service that they currently do."
