Volcano causes cancelled flights for thousands of passengers

"The restriction on flights in and out of the UK has been extended until at least 7am Sunday due to the volcano ash cloud drifting from Iceland.
If the ash cloud "moves sufficiently", limited domestic flights may be able to take off from Scotland and Northern Ireland, according to the National Air Traffic Service(Nats).
British Airways has cancelled all short and long haul flights in and out of the UK until at least Monday morning.
The next update on flight restrictions is expected to be issued at 9pm tonight.
Nats said forecasts suggest the cloud, which is "moving around and changing shape", will begin to cover the whole of Britain after 7pm.
The Icelandic Meteorological Office said the wind could keep the ash cloud over Europe for up to five days."
